One of Utah’s top tourist attractions is set for its seasonal opening this weekend (Saturday, April 1).
No trip to Zion National Park in South Western Utah is complete without a visit to the Fort Zion Virgin Trading Post, according to many of its recent visitors that left comments on social media and websites such as TripAdvisor.com – where it has achieved a 4 out of five rating. Selected recent comments include:
- “The absolute best hamburgers on the planet.”
- “Just so much fun, the pizza combo was brilliant, cactus chili different but yummy and the ribs cooked superbly.”
- “A very quaint, stylized location for eating and souvenir shopping.”
- “The restaurant and store were the most reasonably priced of anywhere we stopped in our loop of South Western Utah.”
The Trading Post is also the only business in the city of Virgin to be mentioned by the esteemed Lonely Planet guidebooks – and thus is seen and known by potential visitors to Zion from around the world. But this is far more than a tourist trap, and in addition to a petting farm (admission $1), there is also a well-stocked gift shop with thousands of items for sale including a stunning collection of Native American jewelry.
Denise Anderson, owner of the Fort Zion Virgin Trading Post, said: “We are extremely excited to open this weekend, both for our regular visitors and for new visitors to Zion National Park.”
Fort Zion and the Virgin Trading Post opens from 10am until 8pm and is located on 1000 W. Highway 9, Virgin, UT 84779. Just look for the replica and popular Old West-style town (pictured above) and you’ve arrived.
